Project mission

GEMMA aims to identify maize genotypes able to contain the presence of toxigenic fungi and tolerate harsh environmental conditions, and select microorganisms able to improve the response to biotic and abiotic stresses. GEMMA builds a database useful for future genetic selections and favours the development of new networks between producers, seed companies, research centres, to conserve and spread ancient varieties of maize at national and European level.
