CITY WISE-NET project aims at supporting regional development policies in bio-economy field: it works closely with the City of Milan, which granted its endorsement, and the Lombardy Green Chemistry Association.
CITY WISE NET encourages the dialogue with the public administration and all the territorial institutions and realities in the field of Green Chemistry, with a focus on applications in agro-energy, biofuels and green biotech fields.
The partnership consists of five enterprises (Austep Spa, ACS Dobfar SPA, Alan Srl, Labnalysis Srl, Italbiotec Consortium) and two prestigious Universities (Politecnico of Milan and University of Milan), whose complementary expertise aims at consolidating and developing innovative and disruptive technologies applied to an urban scale.
The initiative’s purpose is focused on the development of a smart and integrated waste management system and a model of exploitation of several renewable energy sources, according to a replicable model of urban scale up, in a sustainable way.
Different types of waste (urban and industrial, wet fraction, sludge, sewage) are synergistically combined in a MULTIFUNCTIONAL CENTRE which aims at recovering waste materials with high added value, generating renewable energy and networking waste treatment and disposal plants, in order to optimize consumption and local energy needs.
